BREIF 2: Material Model
Mills uses a wide range of unrefined line in his work, particularly in his portraits, animations and graphics. my model employs this distinctive style using heat set plastic meshing. The material of the model cast a shadow of a shape filled with squiggly lines. this ‘shadow drawing’ can change depending on the direction and the intensity of the light. This model is mainly inspired by...

'Lights Out' Edward Thomas
I have come to the borders of sleep,  The unfathomable deep  Forest where all must lose  Their way, however straight,  Or winding, soon or late;  They cannot choose. Many a road and track  That, since the dawn’s first crack,  Up to the forest brink,  Deceived the traveller,  Suddenly now blurs,  And in they sink. Here love ends,  Despair, ambition ends,  All pleasure and all trouble, ...

Introduction Of Text As A Composition.
In response to the drawings of the extruding rust i pushed the composition further with the use of typography. I wanted the text to be significant to the theme of rust, decay and the beauty in deterioration. This task is to begin to get me thinking of how to consider text within a composition, not just as a communication need. I wanted to explore alternating type styles and proximities on the...

EXPLORATION OF REFORMATTING THE DRAWINGS
I thought that the drawings needed more emphasis. I ripped around the original drawings an placed it on intentionally crushed trace paper. i did this to keep to the theme of decay. some of the opinion by my peers was that it was “messy” and detracted from the drawings. I found the effect quite beautiful and the “messiness” achieved what i wanted to represent.
